No, this isn’t just some “Cold Blueing” gig that just covers up a few nicks or small scratches. This is a full detailed Hot Blueing process that involves removing rust, pitting, etc. Once that’s all removed, the gunsmith polishes every inch for a smooth finish. After that, it’s dipped in our custom hot blueing tanks and then oiled. This is a very timely process and has been perfected by our gunsmiths for over 50 years!

smithing ain’t easy

Lee Richeson is not only the owner but a well versed gunsmith with more than 35 years of experience. He began his apprenticeship from his father, Al Richeson, back when they first opened the gun shop in Lake Oswego.

Kase Larsen is known to be the “King of Smithing”. After apprenticing under Lee, the owner, Kase has taken the time to learn & keep learning every technique out there. When we say, “you can trust us” we really mean, Kase knows what to do and how to do it.

A small spring just flew out of your gun while cleaning it and you can’t find it. We got you covered. Give us a call and we’ll help you find it. No, we won’t come to your house, but we may have one in stock or know just the place to get you back up and running.

storage policy

All customers will be called the day work is completed on the firearm. Firearms not picked up within thirty (30) days of completion will be assessed a monthly storage fee for up to 3 months (90 days). If the firearm is not picked up within 90 days from date of completion, the firearm will be considered abandoned and will become property of Rich’s Gun Smithing, LLC.


NOTICE: FIREARMS THAT ARE DEEMED UNSAFE TO FIRE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE OUR SHOP ASSEMBLED!!!
Any firearm being repaired that is found to have any safety feature not working, or disabled, will have the safety feature repaired, with charge.
